We would like to invite you to participate in Longing, Belonging, Belongings, a series of FREE community dance-theatre workshops leading it up to a performance in St Marys.
This is an exciting opportunity for those who have no prior experience in an art practice but would like to explore their creative side.
Created by French director and choreographer Cloé Fournier and in collaboration with Iranian composer and tar virtuoso Hamed Sadeghi, who both migrated to Australia more than 10 years ago, this performance is a biography of migrants expressed through movement and dance and accompanied by text, song, and music.
Through the workshops, you will have the chance to work with professional artists who will guide you in creating a unique and inspiring performance that reflects your experiences and perspectives as migrants. This is a chance to connect with your community and to express your identity in a meaningful and powerful way.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about community engagement, storytelling, and have a keen interest or curiosity in performing arts. We welcome people of ages (16 & above), backgrounds, and levels of experience to participate in this project.
The workshops will be held on Saturdays over several weeks, and the final performance will be held in St. Marys in June 2023.
To participate in this exciting project, please fill out an Expression of Interest (EOI) form by Monday 17 April 2023: https://forms.gle/vodAc8jmtRAHL6Q47
And we will get back to you ASAP
* These workshops and performance are supported by Penrith City Council through a Magnetic Places grant
