Reclaiming ocean pollution as art, Marina DeBris presents pieces from her collection, "Beach Couture; A Haute Mess". Half fashion, half art, these hand-made wearable pieces are made completely from trash found on local beaches. In 2017 Marina exhibited a piece in Sculpture by the Sea called "The Inconvenience Store". The work received the People's Choice Award, Waverley Council Mayor's Prize and The Sydney Water Environmental Sculpture Subsidy and is currently on view at Taronga Zoo.

Trained as a graphic designer at Rhode Island School of Design, Marina's interest in the intersection of art and the environment has been a constant. "My first goal is to provoke viewers into thinking about the consequences of our habits, and how we can change them. My second goal is to get rid of all the garbage in my garage! In a responsible way, of course."
